Calculations & studies

The specification is where it starts. The calculations are where it is proved.

A package list tells you what will be installed. It does not tell you whether the radio will reach the lifeboat station, whether the batteries will last the blackout, or whether two transmitters will interfere on the same mast. Twenty-eight calculations and studies answer those questions — and every one is issued before the drawings that depend on it.

Coverage maps, not just numbers.

Every package whose performance is spatial — trunked radio, marine and aeronautical radio, wireless, cellular, public address, personnel tracking, camera and detection coverage, satellite look-angle blockage — is issued with heat maps on the facility general arrangement, at each relevant level, against a stated colour scale and threshold. You can see the coverage, not just be told it was calculated.

Floating production is a project industry — engineers move between operators, yards and contractors with every award, and no crew stays together for long. The record below belongs to the core architects: the people who shaped these programmes, from concept through FEED, conversion, redeployment and life extension, and who were on board when the systems were proved.   • Telecom engineering, replacement and maintenance across FPSO Kikeh, FPSO Sepat, MOPU Sepat, FSO Puteri Dulang and FSO Abu — design through multi-year maintenance contracts.
  • Intra-field IP digital microwave radio linking platforms and floaters across Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak and Sabah operations, from engineering design to commissioning.
  • Telecom lead on FEED and detail design for wellhead platform and living-quarters packages — GMDSS, PAGA, trunked radio, VSAT, CCTV, radar beacon and navigation aids.
  • Two decades at lead-engineer level on bid, verification, brownfield, greenfield, conceptual, FEED and EPC/EPCIC telecom packages.
Floating production engineering Concept, conversion, redeployment
  • PFLNG Satu — the world's first FLNG, from concept and feasibility through Pre-FEED, FEED and EPC, covering liquefaction, cargo handling and utility/marine systems.

How we engage

Take the discipline, or the part you are short of.

Some clients hand the whole telecom scope. Others need a specification written, a calculation checked, or four commissioning technicians for six months. Both are normal, and the contracting arrangement is yours to set.

  • Engineering. Specifications, calculations, drawings, studies and design review — standalone, or embedded alongside your own engineers.
  • Manpower. Design engineers, site supervisors, installation and commissioning technicians — at the yard, the integration site or offshore.
  • Specialist support. Coverage surveys, RF exposure assessments, interface resolution and troubleshooting on systems already installed.

Each stage ends with something you can inspect — a drawing set, a bid evaluation, a test record, a signed certificate. Sequencing follows your project schedule.
